How does Adsense work? Adsense works by displaying text or image ads that match the content of your website. Advertisers pay whenever someone clicks on these ads and since the ad was clicked on from your website, you will recieve a portion of what the advertiser paid.

For example: Let's say you have a website that is focused on pet supplies. If you have inserted a block of Adsense code, the ads that are displayed will probably be related to pets or pet supplies. This will make it seem like they are not really ads at all to the visitor because they blend into your site. When a visitor clicks on an ad that is displayed, you will recieve a portion of whatever the advertiser paid for the click. Only Google knows what this amount is, it will not be disclosed to you. You will only be able to tell what the average is by looking at your adsense account.
