• What is Search Engine Optimization:This is a process where a website ranking is manipulated in such a way using various techniques to get a high position on the search engines so that when someone searches for a particular product or service, or solution to a problem, the website that best has content relating to whatever the surfer is looking for come within the top ten websites listed out of hundreds or even thousands. There are many techiniques in search engine optimization, i.e, keyword research, adwords program, and paid advertising using Url submission services.
• What is Keyword Research: This is one of the most important search engine optimization techniques. The way search engines index websites is through the keywords that are used on the sites. For example, if a site was selling guitars, then the keword would be 'guitar'. Another keyword could be 'cheap guitars', another one could be 'electronic guitar'. Do you get the picture. So if a surfer went on Google and typed in 'cheap guitar' all the websites with that targeted keyword phrase would come up in the search. So a good way to utililse search engine optimization would be to reseach very targeted keywords.
• What are Adwords: The adwords program is not complicated. It is a technique also utilising keywords. Lets use the guitar example again. if i had a guitar website and i wanted to get traffic to it, i could sign up for the Adwords progrom where i would pay for clicks to my site. This is also called pay per click. I would bid for say 0.5c to 0.7c depending on the popularity of the keywords used. I woud have to phrase my ad in such a way as to display a benefit or a feature so that surfers would lick onto my site. Every time my site got a click i would pay 0.5c. This is a very good example of search engine optimization.
• Website Submission Services:Having a website and not having traffic can be a very frustrating thing. About 90% of online webmasters face this problem. It reaches a stage sometimes when their site is never ever noticed on the web. So you can understand that if your site is not ranked high enough then it can never be found on the search engines, and if that is the case, no traffic means no customers and that means no income.
