SEO Techniques That Can Boost Your Site By 300 Positions.

When most people think about SEO techniques, tips, and tricks the first thing that comes to mind is black hat methods or methods that will usually violate most search engine's terms of service. Which in many cases gets a site banned. Once that happens a web page is pretty much doomed. What many web site owners forget to realize that there are some really basic on-page SEO techniques that can be done without risking getting banned from the search engines. Most web pages don't have any optimization so using just the basic SEO techniques you can really give your web page a favorable advantage over 90% of the web pages on the web today.

One of the first basic optimization techniques is selecting which words to use for your web page title. Your web page title appears as the blue text in the search results and can be seen as the header of the visitors browser window. You should only include your main key words and keep it as short as possible. Your page title is important because it tells the search engine much about the content of your site. Remember that good SEO techniques involve using only your main key words in your title and if possible in the URL as well. Search engines will give more rank to those key words and the better your page will be placed in the search results. Also, your site could easily rank higher than a web page with a higher page rank.

A bad idea that you may see a lot is a page title that reads "Welcome to www.BlahBlahBlah.com."

What you want to do for example is; let's say that our web page is about white hat search engine optimization. We come up with three good phrases dealing with SEO and phrases that people might use to search on the subject. Such as "Best SEO techniques", "SEO tips", and "SEO tricks". In each of these phrases your main keywords are present. Now to make a good page title out of those might look something like; " Best SEO Techniques | Secret SEO Tips". That is short, to the point, and keyword rich.

When making your web page title you can replace "ands" with "|" symbol which is located on the backslash key. Always combine your keywords and cut down on the number of keywords in your title.

Be sure to sprinkle your keywords and key phrases in your title throughout your page's content. Also make sure you use your keywords in your h1 and h2 header tags. This is by no means among "top secret" SEO techniques but just one of many SEO techniques that can make your web page jump up several hundred positions as long as your targeting the right keywords and phrases.
